The group delivered a record 1,438 meals on Wednesday. The program, which delivers nearly 200,000 meals each year to the home-bound, sick and disabled, has just 16 employees and relies on volunteers to deliver meals. Despite the weather, about 30 volunteers arrived Wednesday to deliver meals. On an average day, volunteers deliver about 700 meals.
